How to apply for a new Pan Card?

📋 Step-by-Step Guide to Apply for PAN Card Online

1. Visit the Official Website

Go to either of the following:

• NSDL (Protean): https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com
  
  

• UTIITSL: https://www.pan.utiitsl.com
  
  

Then select:

“Apply for New PAN (Form 49A) – Indian Citizen”

2. Fill Out the Online Application (Form 49A)

• Select “Individual” as the applicant category.
  
  

• Enter your Full Name, Date of Birth (DD/MM/YYYY), Email ID, Mobile Number, and Captcha.
  
  

3. Get the Token Number

• After submitting the first page, a Token Number will be generated.
  
  

• Click on “Continue with PAN Application Form” to proceed.
  
  

4. Choose How You Will Submit Documents

You’ll have 3 options:

• e-KYC & e-Sign using Aadhaar OTP
  
  

• Scan & Upload Documents
  
  

• Forward physical documents by post
  
  

5. Provide Identity & Address Proof

Upload or submit any one of the following:

• Aadhaar Card
  
  

• Voter ID
  
  

• Passport
  
  

• Driving License
  (These are used for both Identity and Address proof.)
  
  

6. Review the Application

• Carefully verify all details such as Name, Address, and Date of Birth.
  
  

• If applying for a minor, the parent/guardian must fill in their own details as a representative.
  
  

7. Make Payment

• ₹93 + GST (≈ ₹110) if the card is to be delivered in India.
  
  

• ₹864 + GST (≈ ₹1020) if the card is to be sent outside India.
  
  

• Payment modes: Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking, UPI, or Demand Draft.
  
  

8. Download Acknowledgment Receipt

• After successful payment, download the Acknowledgment Slip.
  
  

• It contains a 15-digit acknowledgment number used to track your PAN status.
  
  

9. Send Documents by Post (if required)

If you didn’t use e-KYC:

• Send two passport-size photographs,
  
  

• The signed acknowledgment, and
  
  

• Required ID/address proof documents
  To the NSDL/UTIITSL address mentioned on the receipt.
  
  

10. PAN Allotment & Delivery

• Your PAN number will be issued within 2 working days (digitally).
  
  

• The physical PAN card will be delivered by post within 10–15 days.
  
  

🔍 For Minors or NRIs

• The parent/guardian must fill out the form on behalf of the minor.
  
  

• Submit their own documents as representative proof.
