How to Recharge Your Smart Meter on the New Vidyut Sahayogi App?
Follow these exact steps to recharge your smart meter instantly.
Step 1: Initiate Recharge
Open the App 📱 Launch the Vidyut Sahayogi app on your phone.
Select Quick Pay 👆 Tap on the "Quick Pay" option on the dashboard.
Select Consumer ID 🆔 Choose your specific Consumer ID (essential if you have multiple connections).
Verify & Proceed 🧐 Check your details to ensure they are correct, then click "Proceed".
Step 2: Payment Details
Enter Amount 💰 Input the exact recharge amount you want to pay.
Go to Gateway 🏦 Select your payment gateway and click "Pay Now".
Choose Payment Method 💳 Select your preferred method.
💡 Recommendation: Choose UPI for the smoothest experience.
Step 3: Complete Transaction (Crucial Step)
Enter UPI ID ✍️ Type your UPI ID manually (e.g., jitendradutta11@oksbi found in GPay/PhonePe) and click "Pay".
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Do not close the app or press back completely after this step. Just minimize it.
Authorize Payment 💸 Open your UPI app (like GPay or PhonePe), wait for the payment pop-up, and click "Pay".
Final Confirmation ✅ Switch back to the Vidyut Sahyogi app and wait a few seconds. The screen will update to confirm your payment is done!
Even with the best apps, technical glitches can happen. If you face issues while recharging on Vidyut Sahyogi, follow these solutions:
Issue 1: Money Deducted, But Recharge Not Successful
This is the most common panic situation. If your bank account was debited but the app says "Failed" or the balance hasn't updated:
Step 1: Do Not Retry Immediately. Wait for at least 24 to 48 hours. Retrying immediately often leads to double payment.
Step 2: Check Payment History. Go to the "History" section in the app to see if the status changes to "Success" after a few minutes.
Step 3: Auto-Refund. If the transaction was truly a failure, the bank usually initiates an auto-refund within 7-10 working days.
Issue 2: Recharge Done, But Smart Meter Not Working
Sometimes the app shows "Success," but your electricity is still cut off or the meter shows low balance.
The Cause: There is often a delay in syncing the app server with your physical smart meter.
The Fix: Wait for 15–30 minutes. If power is not restored, press the push button on your smart meter (if available) to force a refresh.
Issue 3: App Crashing or Login Issues
Ensure you are using the latest version of Vidyut Sahayogi from the Play Store/App Store.
Clear the app cache in your phone settings if the screen freezes during payment.
